 First Ever Issue!

Welcome to the first-ever issue of the DNCAA E-Letter! We are hoping this becomes a popular and much desired feature of our website (www.dncalumni.org) - Why not have all news/events and awesome alumni stories delivered directly into your email box? It's a great idea! As with all features offered at our site, this newsletter is free.

We are hoping to release an issue every 2 months or so. (This has yet to be decided)

This first edition is more like a "Test Pilot" to see how it works. The more feedback we get, the better.

We hope this issue and all future issues spark your interest!

We Need Your Help!

We need anyone and everyone who would like to get involved with the DNCC E-Letter. Like to write? Want to share your story? Have pictures you'd like to share? Love to design?? Creative Ideas? If you answered "Yes" to any of those.. we want you! This e-letter can be a very valuable and entertaining feature.

If you would like to donate pictures, stories or help design/edit this e-letter, please email: michaelbentz@sbcglobal.net

A great confluence in time has passed and once again many different paths converged at the mouth of the Klamath River. Time seemed to stand still, if only for a few days, as the greatness and culture of a place called DNC was remembered. Let's hope even more people can make the journey next year! Sorry, you folks had to miss out on such a good time!

We would like to thank the Yurok Tribe for providing that awesome Salmon BBQ and also Kamp Klamath for their hospitality.

Thanks also to everyone who attended our July 2005 Reunion. You all are awesome!!!

The Legacy Lives On!

An Account of The July 2005 Reunion

We arrived upon the shores of a faraway land at about 4AM on a Friday morning. Our spirits were high, though the long journey had rendered us gaunt and haggard; our muscle tissue ravaged from inactivity. The fog was impenetrable yet we managed through it by simply guessing where the road was and speeding onward.

Kamp Klamath was a beautiful facility, equipped with free Wi-Fi, a small store, a grassy field and friendly staff. As the day turned into early evening familiar faces started popping out of the brush. Although 1500 PJ Murphy was quietly subsiding into the sea, it was as if DNC had never truly shut down. Perhaps it existed within us the whole time.

On Saturday we rode a 750 hp, twin 460cu. in., 2 gal/mi Klamath Jet Boat named "Eagle". It turned out to be 25 very well-spent dollars. We witnessed nature in its rawest state, a massive bear (cub) foraged along the shore and took interest in us, nearly stepping onto the bow.

Then, after 2 days of fun and excitement, we said our goodbyes atop the vista, shrouded within an ethereal fog. We drove off, once again embarking upon many separate paths, our futures' having been affected or even made possible by this part of our past. Until next year, when it all comes back to life once again...
